Reformation Sunday: Grace Alone. Faith Alone.

Imagine a church so corrupt and godless that it resembled an oppressive secular tyranny more than it did the Body of Christ. This is what the Reformers Luther, Calvin, Knox and many others faced 500 years ago when they fought for biblical doctrine and practice in the church of their day. Our church and denomination stand today in the mainstream of that heritage, preaching a gospel of grace by faith in Christ alone. May we never fail to appreciate their sacrifices and hard won battles for light in the midst of darkness.

Fight the Good Fight

Fight the good fight, not wasting bullets on other people, other causes, other other distractions, but engaging the enemy of our soul on the battleground of our our hearts and minds. Victory is ours in Christ, wielding the weapons of prayer, forgiveness, repentance, love, joy, and all the other means of grace at our disposal in Him.
