“Debbie’s Song”

by John Nasekos

It only takes about a minute to change a person's trajectory and give their heart a renewed purpose. That is what Debbie Barlow did for me just a few weeks ago. I wish I had known her as well as those of you who have been sharing stories about her. She was remarkable. I saw her during the French Camp Harvest Festival for just a short moment. Despite her own pain and discomfort, she took time to talk to me, whisper in my ear, encourage me, and tell me she loved me. I thought if she could so freely give of herself to encourage me during her own time of need, then I surely could help others with theirs. I have thought today of her walking in Heaven along a flowing river, healed of all of her pain, hair blowing in the wind, and with fullness of joy on her face. This music is my thoughts of her and the love she showed to those she blessed with her friendship.

-John Nasekos
